WIC, Vermont Department of Health

Many Vermont families find themselves in a position where they need help meeting nutritional needs. That's where WIC comes in. Our office in Burlington (and outlying clinics in Milton and Hinesburg) provides support to families in Chittenden County. Many women and children are eligible for WIC and don't even know it. Pregnant and post-partum women, infants, and children to age 5 with Medicaid or Dr. Dynasuar are automatically eligible for WIC. Fathers, grandparents and foster parents may also apply for help from WIC for children under their care. WIC provides the following services: nutrition education; breastfeeding support; referrals to healthcare providers and community partners; and a healthy food package. Good Beginnings

Good Beginnings provides free access to support, respite, and connections to community resources during the transition to parenthood. Our Postpartum Angel program matches families with a volunteer who will visit your home once a week for up to 12 weeks to offer respite, companionship, and connections to community resources. Any family with a new baby is eligible. We serve all of Washington County; and our ability to serve neighboring towns in Orange, Caledonia, and Chittenden counties depends on volunteer availability. Pelvic Health is a small privately owned pelvic floor physical therapy office, specializing and serving pregnant and postpartum moms. The natural changes experienced throughout a woman's body that occur during both pregnancy and the postpartum period, can pose challenges and possibly pain and discomfort.
